It’s June, how did that happen!? It came as a surprise, May seemed like it would be around forever, then suddenly it vanished and here we are, half the year gone already. And I feel like I’ve been standing still for most of it*sigh*

We are coming out of lockdown, people can move about quite freely now, so long as they social distance. Trouble is a lot of people don’t seem to quite understand what that means, especially in supermarkets. I dash around a shop dodging the other customers like I’m in a dodgeball game whereas most of them are strolling around with not a care in the world as to who they are practically bumping into. I think dodging people is now ingrained in my psyche:P

The other thing with coming out of lockdown is that the traffic is getting heavier again, it was heavenly to drive into town to take B for his treatments and appointments with hardly another car on the road. Not so much anymore. And walking through the park with Ari was blissfully quiet, the birds were so much more active. Funny what less human activity can accomplish.

Anywho, as I said, we are coming out of lockdown. Our virus figures are in single digits in most states and no new cases in South Australia for a couple of weeks now. State borders will be closed for a while yet but maybe, just maybe, if the border between SA and Victoria is open for the July school holidays we might be able to make a trip to see the grandkids. That would be wonderful, it’s getting on for a year since we’ve been able to see them.

Looking after my currently medically unfit family members has been taking up much of my time but I’ve managed to progress with the Lewis fic I'm working on, enough to get to what is quite probably the halfway point, or past that (at 30k I imagine past halfway is the more likely). Still a bit to go though but I have hope of finishing it eventually.

The quiet walks over the past few weeks have produced quite a few photos, it's been good photography conditions.

There's been a lot of mushrooms popping up due to our sometimes sunshine and quite a bit of rain

I think this is a pied imperial pigeon, but I could well be wrong!

These are wattle birds, there was a whole flock of them sitting on the electrical wires one dismal day.

I came across a group of rainbow lorrikeets going after the pine nuts on the ground. I very rarely have seen lorikeets on the ground so was delighted to get some photos of them

There seemed to be a bit of mating ritual going on

This one seemed to wonder what I was up too

In my quiet walks I've also found a new species I wasn't aware hangs out in the park, much to my delight.

This is a musk lorikeet. It's smaller than it's cousin the rainbow lorikeet and not as brilliantly coloured, but I fell in love with it.

That's about it for now.
