Update
My last update was February and quite a bit has happened since then.
There’s been a trip to Victoria to visit daughter, son and grandchildren – the first time since 2019 we’ve been able to see our son and granddaughter. She’s grown a lot of course and so have the grandsons, the oldest of whom is up to my shoulder in height now. It won’t be long before he’s taller than me! He’s turned nine last December so I suspect he is going to be a big lad when he grows up.
Daughter and grandsons came our way for Easter and that was really nice, we had some gorgeous weather for it and got out and about quite a bit.
In amongst all that I have finally managed to fullfill my fandomforoz auction obligation and finish the marathon that has been the Lewis Steampunk fic, duly presenting it to my bidders
moth2fic and
kat_lair . I admit to feeling a little lost now that it’s finally done and dusted. But no doubt inspiration for new writing efforts will strike sooner or later. If you fancy a look it’s up on AO3 here Death in Jericho
I will be posting some photos from the visiting in due course, once I’ve got around to sorting them all out. In the meantime here’s some pretty pictures from the park.

The park where we walk the dog is small but it does have quite a variety of bird life and there are at least two koalas that make it their home. The reason these photos of the koala are so close is that it was climbing a tree right in front of us, usually they are curled up on a high branch, so a rare photographic opportunity:)

I am so excited that you've posted your fic, it is a brilliant tale, beautifully told and I hope it gets the attention it deserves. I am in awe of your writing and ability to tell such a believable story, especially one set in times past *g*

It was good to finally get the fic up and out there. My recipients are liking it thankfully:) and that’s the main thing. Glad I’ve been able to get you into a fantasy/historical read, I know it’s not your usual thing, I count it as a win that you enjoyed it so much:D

Well done on finishing the Lewis fic. I've just downloaded it, to add to my Kindle stash. Looking forward to reading it.
Oh those Eastern rosellas are gorgeous. Are they there, where you live, every year? I have been occasionally surprised to see them here, but it's only once every 10 years or so.

We have the eastern rosellas permanently. They aren't as abundant as rainbow lorikeets but there's quite a few of them around if you look hard enough. We also have the subspecies Adelaide rosella, both species seem to be nesting permanently in the little park where we walk the dog and I'm always on the lookout for them. I love them, they are so pretty. I also spotted some crimson rosellas in Victoria, which made my day:D
Hope you enjoy the fic:D
