My life seems to have become a bit more complicated lately. Hubby has just taken extended leave prior to his retirement. That’s good because I now get home from work to an already cooked, or in the process of being cooked, dinner. The downside is that I have a near-enough-to retiree underfoot whenever I’m at home!  I have to say I do miss those few precious moments of peace and quiet I used to enjoy from time to time when he was working.

Then, yesterday, some delightful person hacked into my Yahoo email account and delivered spam to various contacts. Unfortunately Yahoo has decided that because of recent ‘suspicious activity’ on my account they should bar me from sending any emails so I can’t actually send explanatory notes to any victims. So, if anyone on my f’list has received a spammy email from me I apologise and I trust you have deleted it! Fortunately, although I can’t send any emails at the moment I can read anything that comes in and access my folders.

Better news is that I’ll be off to Canberra again for a few days at the end of April. It will be good to see how much the youngest grandson has grown over the last few weeks. He’ll be six weeks old when I see him again!

More good news is that I have done some writing lately and finally finished the Being Human fic that I had promised [livejournal.com profile] moth2fic so long ago it had become a dim, distant memory for her. It’s up on AO3 if anyone is interested in reading: La Lune

Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kat_lair for providing a great beta and showing me where I was going wrong.

It’s wonderful weather here at the moment, lovely and sunny and warm. But that obviously won’t last as we head into winter. Last winter I stopped on the way to work and took a photo of the small lake not far from my office.

Misty morning

It was a foggy day and a little eerie. Can’t say I’m looking forward to winter this year and the fogs but then after the extreme summer it will almost be a relief.

Can't say as I am particularly looking forward to the having hubby home underfoot all the time part of retirement either, thank goodness for golf! Lovely pic, very atmospheric like looking through gauze. Enjoy your trip to see the grandchild- they grow so fast at that age.

I suspect I will be looking for a hobby/new interest for him, anything to keep him occupied - preferably somewhere else for a few hours, especially on weekends! Glad you like the pic, we don’t get a lot of fog here but the one that day was quite heavy in places and very eerie.

And yes, kids change tremendously at that age. The differences I see in my older grandchild after a couple of month’s absence are amazing. I’m looking forward to seeing them both soon:)

See! You had quite a lot of interesting things to say after all!!

I shall email later - to the gmail address. How is anyone supposed to deal with hacking if they can't contact their contacts?? Stupid Yahoo!! (You could maybe ask Rob or Chris for their experiences with this. They both suffered.)

Somehow I never look on my life as interesting*g* I agree – stupid Yahoo! I didn’t know Chris had been hacked as well but it does seem to be very endemic in Oz at the moment. I can email from Yahoo now, but will keep on with the gmail address, as irritating as it is to cope with on work’s antiquated IE version!

Oh dear, I feel with you!
Those moments of peace and loneliness are so wonderful.
And being hacked is really in part like being robbed, aweful feeling.

Good that you get to see your grandsons soon, and good luck with the weather!
We have finally some spring over here.

I knew the inevitable loss of peace and quite was coming and tried to make the most of it when I had it, but the loss stings quite a bit when it does happen! Dunno, men don’t seem to need that ‘space’ as much as women do …

Being hacked does leave a feeling of being violated, of having your personal life exposed. I’ve became a bit paranoid now!!

I’m really looking forward to seeing the grandkids again, it’s hard them being so far away and not getting to see them regularly. I’m hoping the nice weather stays for a while but we never get it as bad in winter as you do. Glad to hear you’re finally coming into spring, it’s been a long hard winter for you all.

I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I love that icon*g*

Lovely to hear news from you!

Glad there are cooked dinners waiting for you but sorry to hear about loss of private time. Maybe you can get into habit of stopping at a cafe or library or something after work, just for 30mins to sit and read and think on your own a bit?

Rubbish about being hacked. Nothing's come my way at least.

Have fun seeing your grandchild and I hope the autumn is less cruel than the spring has been here.

I shall now go and read the post-beta version of the fic :)

The cooked dinners are a definite plus in lieu of my former ‘me’ time;) It’s amazing not to have that imperative to dash home after work and start cooking just so that at some point in the evening I can have some downtime before I get too tired to enjoy it! I’m thinking of stopping by the lake in the pic after work sometimes, just to sit and enjoy the solitude for a while with my Kindle, especially with the weather being so nice at the moment. Think it’s just a case of re-organising my priorities and my habits with the change of hubby’s lifestyle.

Glad you weren’t affected by the hacking, it was rather strange what email addresses were picked on. It’s a not very pleasant feeling when you do get hacked and I’m trying to be ultra careful now.

I’m looking forward to the visit to daughter and grandsons and hoping that the weather holds for it. Hope you’ve thawed out a bit over there now;)

I see you enjoyed the revised fic:D
