Snowflake Challenge #3

In your own space, tell us who, from one of your fandoms, would you most want to have dinner with (or tea, or a random afternoon visit), And why? This could be a creator, an actor, a costumer, a set designer, a director, a character, a composer, anybody! What would you talk about? What are you dying to know? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I’ve thought about this challenge and was unsure about answering it. I don’t think I’d like to so much meet the people of fame, because really, what would you talk about, their worlds and mine are completely divergent. Besides, I would probably be so nervous and self-conscious that I’d just stare open mouthed, which would not give the best of impressions.

What I would really like is to be a fly on the wall and go back in time to see history unfolding – ancient Rome and Greece, the Egyptians building the pyramids, Shakespeare’s London – see historical figures making history, but from the advantage and safety of being an innocent little fly on a wall;)

On the other hand, hanging out with fictional characters would be cool. Perhaps Sheppard and McKay could give me a tour of Atlantis and then I could have takeaway with Lewis and Hathaway. Sitting in the backseat of Danny’s Camaro and listening to him argue with Steve would be fun – the possibilities are endless*g*

I'm not one for celebrity worship, but I couldn't find it in me to pick a real person either! Most times I imagine the meeting would be very awkward and they wouldn't really want anything to do with me. But fictional characters are so fun and really seem like people we know better than ourselves sometimes!

Let's face it, you can be yourself with fictional characters, there is no pressure involved and we can get them to do and say whatever we like*g* so they are much easier to hang out with*nods*

Interesting! I thought you might choose the Impala or the Capri!! As to the fly on the wall, I think the possibility of being swatted might put me off, but I'd certainly like to see all those things!

The Impala or Capri would be fun too. If I were a fly I would be very discreet and not buzz around anyone's head or pick at their food. I'd stay on the wall and not be noticed;)

I hadn't thought about being a fly on the wall for things happening in history, wouldn't that be cool!

I'm reluctant about meeting real people, but characters yes, I'd love a tour of Atlantis!

Yes the possibilities are only limited by our imaginations and there have been some amazing suggestions for this challenge.

There have been some great responses, I've been browsing:) Being an actual eyewitness to history would be wonderful - especially if you could just see but not have to be involved, wouldn't want to get caught up in a war or gunfight! With fictional characters we are only limited by our own imaginations:)

Exactly my thoughts re: real-life creators. But a guided tour of the Enterprise would be really fun, now that you made me think of it...

Yes! The Enterprise is another good one - a personally guided tour by Kirk and Spock, with McCoy tagging along;)

Oh, oh, to be a fly on the wall throughout history. God, to see the Library at Alexandria or to watch the contraction of Roman and Greek temple or follow along on on elf the crusades <3


And, agreed, if you are getting a tour of Atlantis it has to be with Sheppard and McKay.

Browsing the Library of Alexandria would be wonderful! But also a bit sad at all that was lost.

I can just imagine roaming the corridors of Atlantis with those two, the snark alone would be well worth it:)

Yes, to see what we could have had would be heartbreaking but the beauty of it might be worth it.

Oh, the snark. And then you're reach the point of the city where one wanted to go left and the other had to go right because they had to show you something that is the best part of the city. Like two kids in a candy store, LOL.

You could get fish and chips with Lewis and Hathaway and feed the fish to Robbie's pusscat. And yes, sitting in the back of the camaro and listening to Danny and Steve bicker would be awesome.

It's amazing what delicious imaginings you can come up with when thinking about hanging out with fictional characters isn't it! I'd probably do all the listening though without much contribution - too awestruck and frightened of missing something to speak*g*

And Yeah, there is a lot of history I would just love to be a witness to, but not part of - that would be a bit too dangerous;)

Yeah, better to be an observer rather than a participant and risk getting swatted;)

I think it would be bound to, history is said to be written by the victors after all. History, especially that out of living memory, would probably have a few surprises for us.
